Stunning. Incredible. Simply a couple of words that could describe this one of a kind beauty from the late Mr Schmidt. Measuring 8 7/8" open, 5" closed, and with its 3 7/8" damascus blade, this knife is perhaps, quite simply, the finest ever made by Jim. He of course forged all of the damascus, and the bolsters contrast beautifully with the blade. The Abalone scales are nothing short of phenominal, and are held in place with gold pins. The gold doesn't stop there. The carved liners and lockback release are solid gold, there is a carved gold inlay in the spine, and a solid gold bladestop. The bolster pins are also solid gold. The large disc thumb opener is covered with gold pinned Abalone. This knife is as good as they come, in every way. Perfect, legendary Schmidt fit and finish, incredibly crisp action, and classic design elements. There simply are not enough superlatives in Webster to describe this knife, so I will say this, grab it now, because if you think about it for more than a few minutes, someone else will quite likely own it.
