Francesco Pachi is an Italian knife maker who is at the top of his class. He started with straight knives, but has stopped making those in favor of folders of his own unique designs. His styles include utility, hunters, and skinners, and he uses the finest materials available in their construction. A full time maker since 1991, Francesco favors the use of fine natural materials like ivory and mother of pearl, and uses damascus from some of the finest forgers in the world, Conny Persson and Robert Eggerling to name a couple. Many of his knives are engraved by top world class engravers, and his wife does beautiful scrimshaw work on many of his pieces as well. He is president of the Italian Knifemakers Guild and a voting member of the American Knifemakers Guild.
