This piece has to be seen to be believed. The 8 ½” OAL SA automatic dagger has a 3 ¾” Jerry Rados Turkish Star damascus blade. The handles are completely carved in an underwater theme, complete with bubbles of raised gold and silver. The titanium liners are intricately fileworked and anodized purple. The backspacer is rope fileworked.  The handles have a variety of finishes, matte black, gray, matte stainless steel, and an abundance of raised gold. The release lever has an incredible diamond set in 14K gold. Once you get beyond that, the rounded blue quartz inlays are a window to a fascinating underwater world. On the front is a Mermaid with whales, and on the back a scene with numerous species of ocean life. This is Jim and Joyce’s most ambitious piece to date, and breaks a lot of new ground in the art of knifemaking. One just has to wonder where this fantastic pair can go from here!
