Jim Minnick sold his first knife in 1976, and he and his wife Joyce have been making
beautiful custom and one of a kind art knives since then. Working exclusively together, this fantastic husband and wife team specialize in
theme carved folding linerlocks, both automatic and manual. Jim skillfully builds and finishes the knife, and Joyce takes over with incredibly
original and flawlessly executed engraving and carving themes. Jim likes working with damascus by Jerry Rados, Robert Eggerling, and others,
and uses some stainless steel as well. He favors natural handle materials such as black lip, gold lip, and white mother of pearl, stones such
as Jade and Lapis, and Mammoth ivory. Joyce likes inlaying her detailed engravings with gold, silver, copper, and gemstones. Jim has been a
Knifemakers Guild member since 1978. Making only between twenty-five to thirty knives per year, and only two or three of their specialty high
art knives, a JMJ logo knife is a prized collectors piece. Jim and Joyce have had knives grace the cover of Knives Illustrated, and have been
featured in numerous publications, including David Daroms wonderful book “Art and Design in modern custom folding knives”
