Here is the exact knife that is featured on pages 160 and 161 of David Darom's book, Art and Design in Modern Custom Folding Knives. Page 160 shows how it is constructed, and page 161 shows the finished product. This model 16SB Wharncliffe interframe lockback folder is 6 1/4" open, 3 1/2" closed, and has a beautiful Gary House damascus blade that measures 2 3/4". The 416 stainless frame is highly polished, and yes, the interframe inlay is indeed petrified dinosaur feces that has turned into a beautiful blue and green mottled rock. The backspacer is also Gary's damascus, and is rope fileworked, as is the full length of the top of the blade. Smooth and rock solid, what a great piece to have your favorite engraver put a nice prehistoric scene on, or leave it alone and have a very collectable and visibly published knife.
