For fans of the carved Mule Deer Crown Stag knives, here is an incredible sole authorship piece from Larry, one of the very best makers of this kind of knife. "Blackthorne of the Emerald Forest" is a truly incredible piece. It measures 9 1/4" open, 5 1/2" closed, and has a 3 3/4" blade that Larry forged and carved. The Crown Stag is beautifully carved and inlaid with several materials. "Blackthornes" face is inlaid with Emerald eyes set in gold. The carved nose is part of the damascus backspcer, which is polished inside the knife, and inlaid with two carved pieces of ivory. The beard is forged and carved bronze. as is the movable tongue. There is a carved ivory mane along the top, bordered by more forged and carved bronze pieces. The front of the carved mane is inlayed with a carved Buffalo horn. The knife comes with a custom base made of walnut with a large Emerald on top in which the steel holder is anchored. This piece could not be duplicated today for anywhere close to the very reasonable asking price. This knife comes with it's original paperwork, and is in flawless condition.
