This folding lockback dagger from Henry is a perfect example of why his work is some of the most sought after by serious knife collectors. This knife measures 3 5/8” closed, 6 3/8” open, and has a 2 ¾” blade. The bolsters and liners are 14K gold. The scales are ivory dated to 1931 and contain a 14K gold toothpick. They are held to the liners using engraved 14K gold pins, Henry does not use glue. The whole knife is engraved in an “Acorn” theme. The locklever is carved and contains several gold inlays, including ten 24K gold acorns on the outside and four on the inside. The spring contains a bail, and has several gold inlays, including four 24K gold acorns. The blade is fully engraved, inlayed with lines of 18K gold, and contains thirty nine 24K gold acorns. The blade is 01 steel that is French grayed to highlight the engraving and protect the steel. I could go on, but this is a knife that has to be held in your hands to truly appreciate the detail and the quality. Henry doesn’t make many knives these days, and this is a very collectable piece from him.
