Jerry Corbit is a part time knifemaker who started making fixed blade knives as a hobby in 1991. With early influences like Kit Carson, Van Barnett, George Dailey, and John W Smith, his interest turned to art folders, and he took off from there. He created many unique syles of linerlock folders, both in manual and automatic versions. Jerry likes working in stainless steel, and damascus from top smiths like Robert Eggerling. He favors natural materials for the scales of his bolstered knives and inlays of his interframes such as mother of pearl and fossil Ivories, and often does some carving on those materials. He does many styles of filework, and also inlays gold and precious stones on many of his art pieces. Jerry joined the Knifemakers Guild in 1998, and is one of the featured makers in David Darom's widely acclaimed book, Art and Design in Modern Custom Folding Knives.
