Dr Fred Carter was inspired to make knives after seeing a handmade D’Alton Holder in a local knife shop. He started making hunting knives and the rest is history. A Knifemakers Guild member since 1976, he has served in nearly every capacity, including two terms as president. He has won numerous awards, and has participated in collaborations with Gigand Co. Ltd, United Cutlery Corp., and has also designed numerous knives for Harley Davidson, including their 100th anniversary knife. Fred now makes straight knives, working hunters, fighters, daggers, bowie knives, folders, and investment grade high art knives. His interframes are wonderful, and he uses a variety of materials for inlays and scales. Many folders are of stainless and blued steel with gold and silver inlays and engraving. Fred is still active in his shop in Texas, but has a huge backlog and his knives are very sought after. These are the knives that I currently have available made by: Dr. Fred Carter |
